Bracey Arman Wright (born July 1, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers. After his playing career, he became a coach.

Early Basketball Days
Bracey Wright grew up in The Colony, Texas. He went to The Colony High School. There, he played basketball with Deron Williams, who also became a famous NBA player. In 2002, Bracey was chosen as a McDonald's All-American. This means he was one of the best high school basketball players in the country.
Playing for Indiana University
After high school, Bracey went to Indiana University. He played for the Indiana Hoosiers college team from 2002 to 2005. He was a very good scorer for the Hoosiers. He scored almost 1,500 points during his college career. He also made 186 three-pointers. In 2004, he was named to the First Team All-Big Ten. This award goes to the best players in the Big Ten conference. In his junior year, Bracey led the Big Ten in scoring. He averaged 18.3 points per game. He scored 25 or more points in seven different games that season.
Professional Basketball Career
Bracey Wright decided to leave college after three seasons to play in the NBA. He was picked by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2005 NBA draft. He was the 47th player chosen overall.
Starting in the NBA and D-League
After being drafted, the Timberwolves sent Bracey to the Florida Flame. This team was part of the D-League, which is now called the G League. It helps young players get more experience. He played for the Timberwolves for two seasons.
Playing Overseas
After his time in the NBA, Bracey played for many different teams around the world.
- In 2007, he joined Aris, a team in Greece.
- In 2010, he played for Oostende in Belgium.
- Later in 2010, he moved to Paris-Levallois in France. He became their starting shooting guard.
- In 2011, he signed with Cedevita in Croatia. He had a great season there. He was named to the All-EuroCup Second Team. His team, Cedevita, finished third in the 2010–11 EuroCup Championship.
- He then played for Zaragoza in Spain in 2011.
- In 2012, he returned to Cedevita.
- In 2013, he joined Krasnye Krylia.
Success in Israel
In January 2014, Bracey signed with Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel. He played so well that he signed for three more years in July 2014. During the 2014–15 season, he averaged almost 14 points per game. He also helped his team with rebounds and assists. In the 2015 Israeli Super League Finals, Bracey was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). This means he was the best player in the championship series.
Later Career Teams
After his time in Israel, Bracey continued to play in different countries:
- In 2016, he signed with Acıbadem Üniversitesi in Turkey.
- In 2017, he joined another Turkish team, Büyükçekmece.
- His last professional playing team was ČEZ Nymburk in the Czech Republic, where he played until 2019.
International Play
Bracey also represented the United States in international competitions. In 2004, he was part of the USA team that won a gold medal. This was at the FIBA Americas World Championships for Young Men.
Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Bracey Wright started a new chapter in his basketball journey. In September 2023, he became an assistant coach for the Santa Cruz Warriors. This team plays in the NBA G League, which is the official minor league of the NBA. He also works as a player development coach, helping young players improve their skills.
Personal Life
Bracey Wright is married to Jasmine, and they have four children: Bracey Jr., Bailey, Aaliyah, and Sade. His father, Carl Wright, was also a great basketball player for SMU. Bracey enjoys cooking, staying fit, and reading. He is also a big fan of soccer, especially the Juventus team.
