Bradford is a small town in Steuben County, New York, in the United States. In 2020, about 811 people lived there. This town is named after Major Robert Bradford. You can find Bradford in the northeastern part of Steuben County, just north of the city of Corning.

The Story of Bradford
Bradford was first settled around the year 1793. The very first person to settle here was Daniel Taylor. He lived from 1775 to 1851.
The town of Bradford was officially formed in 1836. It was created from a part of the town of Orange. At that time, Orange was known as the town of Jersey.
Where is Bradford Located?
Bradford is a town with a total area of about 24.9 square miles (64.5 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 24.8 square miles (64.2 square kilometers), is land. Only a small part, about 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometers), is water.
The eastern border of the town is also the border of Schuyler County. A part of Lamoka Lake, called Mill Pond, is located within the eastern side of Bradford.
New York State Route 226 is a main road that goes through the town. It runs from the east to the west.
