Orange is a small town located in Schuyler County, New York, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,408 people lived there.
The Town of Orange is in the southwestern part of Schuyler County. It is located to the east of another town called Bath.
History of Orange
The first people started to settle in the area around Orange in 1798.
The town was officially formed in 1813. It was created from a part of the Town of Wayne. At that time, it was called "Town of Jersey" and was part of Steuben County. The name was changed to Orange in 1836. Later, in 1842 and 1854, parts of nearby towns like Hornby and Bradford were added to Orange.
In 1854, Orange became part of the newly formed Schuyler County.
Geography of Orange
The town of Orange covers a total area of about 54.5 square miles (141.03 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 54.1 square miles (140.04 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.4 square miles (1.00 square kilometer), is water.
The southern and western borders of the town are also the border of Steuben County.
New York State Route 226 is a road that goes through the northwestern corner of Orange.

Places in the Town of Orange
- Lamoka Lake – This is a lake that is partly located in the northwestern part of the town.
- Meads Creek – This is a stream that flows through the town towards the southwest. It eventually joins the Cohocton River.
- Monterey – This is a small community, or hamlet, found in the south-central part of the town.
- Pine Creek – This is another hamlet located in the northern part of the town, along County Road 22.
