Brandon Carey Carr (born May 19, 1986) is a former American football player. He played the cornerback position in the National Football League (NFL). A cornerback's main job is to stop the other team's receivers from catching the ball.
Carr played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, and Baltimore Ravens. He played college football for the Grand Valley State Lakers. The Chiefs picked him in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL draft.
He was known for his durability, once holding the record for the most games started in a row by a defensive player in the NFL. He is also remembered for being the player covering Odell Beckham Jr. during a famous one-handed catch.

Early Life and High School
Carr was born and grew up in Flint, Michigan. He went to Carman Ainsworth High School. As a senior, he was a "two-way player," meaning he played both on defense and offense.
On defense, he was a cornerback and made 53 tackles and 2 interceptions. On offense, he was a wide receiver and had 24 catches for 431 yards and four touchdowns. He was so good on defense that he was named to the All-conference team. He also played basketball.
College Football Career
Carr went to Grand Valley State, a Division II school. He played in 49 games and started in 41 of them. In his college career, he made 206 tackles and 11 interceptions. He also stopped 39 passes from being completed.
He was part of a very successful team. During his sophomore and junior years, his team won the Division II national championship two times in a row. In his senior year, he was named the Defensive Back of the Year in his conference.
Professional Football Career
Getting to the NFL
Because he played for a smaller college, Carr was not invited to the main NFL Scouting Combine. This is an event where top college players show their skills to NFL teams. Instead, he went to a "pro day" at Central Michigan University to perform for scouts.
Even though he wasn't a big name, the Kansas City Chiefs saw his potential. Experts thought he would be picked in a late round of the draft.

Kansas City Chiefs (2008–2011)
The Kansas City Chiefs selected Carr in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL draft. He was the 140th player chosen overall. The team's head coach, Herman Edwards, was so sure about Carr that he promised he would be a starter by the first game of the season.
Edwards was right. Carr started all 16 games in his first year. He finished his rookie season with 73 tackles and two interceptions.
For the next three seasons, Carr was a reliable starter for the Chiefs. He rarely missed a game. In 2010, he helped the Chiefs win their division and make it to the playoffs. In 2011, he had a great year with four interceptions. By the end of his time in Kansas City, he had started every single game for four straight years.
Dallas Cowboys (2012–2016)
After the 2011 season, Carr became a free agent. This meant he could sign with any team. The Dallas Cowboys signed him to a big five-year, $50.1 million contract.
In his first season with the Cowboys, he led the team with three interceptions. One of them was a 47-yard return for his first NFL touchdown. He continued to be a solid player, starting every game. In 2013, he had another touchdown on a 49-yard interception return.
After not getting any interceptions in 2014 or 2015, Carr bounced back in 2016. He ended his 36-game streak without an interception in the first game of the season. He helped the Cowboys have a great 13–3 record and make the playoffs.
Baltimore Ravens (2017–2019)
In 2017, Carr signed a four-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He immediately made an impact. In his first two games with the Ravens, he had an interception in each game. He finished the 2017 season with four interceptions, tying his career high.
He continued his amazing streak of not missing a game. By the end of the 2019 season, he had started 192 games in a row. He played both cornerback and safety for the Ravens, showing his versatility.
Return to the Cowboys
In 2020, Carr returned to the Dallas Cowboys. He first signed to the practice squad, a group of players who practice with the team but don't play in games. He was soon promoted to the main team and played in three games before being released.
