Brandon Timothy Jackson (born March 7, 1984) is an American actor and stand-up comedian. He is well-known for his roles in popular movies. These include Roll Bounce (2005), Tropic Thunder (2008), and playing Grover Underwood in the Percy Jackson films (2010, 2013). He also starred in Lottery Ticket (2010) and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son (2011).

Early Life and Family

Brandon Jackson was born in Detroit, Michigan, a big city in the United States. His mother, Beverly Yvonne, is a pastor, which is a leader in a church. His father, Bishop Wayne Timothy Jackson, is also a senior pastor and has written a book. Brandon's grandfather, Royal Titus Bozeman, was a very special preacher when he was a child. People even called him a "Boy Wonder" in the newspapers!

Becoming an Actor and Comedian

Brandon Jackson went to West Bloomfield High School. After he finished school, he moved to Los Angeles, California. This is a famous city where many actors and comedians go to start their careers. He began doing stand-up comedy at a famous club called the Laugh Factory. He even performed before well-known comedians like Wayne Brady and Chris Tucker.

His role as Junior in the movie Roll Bounce was a big success. It helped him win the 2006 Black Reel Award for Breakthrough Performance. This award is given to new actors who show great talent. Brandon also hosted a show called the Brandon T. Jackson Show on The N channel. In 2006, he hosted a music tour with famous singers like Chris Brown and Lil Wayne.
