Nicholas Scott Cannon (born October 8, 1980) is a famous American comedian, TV host, actor, and rapper. He started his career as a teenager on Nickelodeon's show All That. Later, he became well-known for hosting popular shows like Wild 'n Out, America's Got Talent, and The Masked Singer.
Nick Cannon has also starred in movies such as Drumline and Love Don't Cost a Thing. As a musician, he released his first album in 2003. He continues to work in many different areas of entertainment today.

Early Life
Nick Cannon was born on October 8, 1980, in San Diego, California. He was mostly raised by his grandfather. Growing up, he lived in the Bay Vista Housing Projects in Lincoln Park.
In 1998, he finished high school at Monte Vista High School. There, he was the president of the African Student Coalition. He also took part in track and field sports. Nick got his first chance to perform stand-up comedy on his father's local TV show.
Music Career
Early Music Days
Nick Cannon signed with Jive Records in 2001. He was featured on the Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius movie soundtrack. He sang a cover of the song "Parents Just Don't Understand".
His first album, named Nick Cannon, came out in 2003. It included the song "Your Pops Don't Like Me (I Really Don't Like This Dude)".
In 2005, Cannon started his own record label called Can-I-Ball Records. He planned to release his second album, Stages, but it was never released. This was because he became very busy with his acting career.
New Label and Mixtapes
In 2009, Nick Cannon started a new music label called N'Credible Entertainment. In 2010, he created a funny character named "Slick Nick". He released two songs as this character.
On December 6, 2011, Cannon released his first mixtape, Child of the Corn. A mixtape is like an album, but often released for free.
White People Party Music and More
On July 26, 2013, Cannon released a new song called "Me ...". He also announced he was working on a second studio album. This album, White People Party Music, came out in 2014. It featured other artists like Afrojack and Pitbull.
The second song from the album, "Looking for a Dream", was released in February 2014. The music video for this song came out a few days later.
On November 16, 2016, Cannon released his second mixtape. It was called The Gospel of Ike Turn Up: My Side of the Story. He also released a single called "Hold On" in December 2016.
Other Projects
Hosting TV Shows
In 2005, Nick Cannon created, produced, and hosted the MTV comedy show Wild 'n Out. This show features improv comedy games. In the same year, he hosted a slime stunt at the 2005 Kids' Choice Awards on Nickelodeon.
On December 11, 2009, Cannon hosted the Nickelodeon HALO Awards. He hosted it with other stars like Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys.
In 2010, Cannon also co-hosted a short-lived show called The Nightlife on TeenNick.
On July 4, 2011, Cannon hosted the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. This is a famous eating competition in the United States.
In 2012, MTV2 announced that Wild 'N Out would return. The new show was produced by Cannon's Ncredible Entertainment. It premiered in 2013 and became very popular. It had the highest ratings in MTV2 history.
From 2014 to 2017, Cannon hosted TeenNick Top 10. This show counted down the ten most popular music videos of the week.
On February 3, 2021, Cannon had COVID-19. Because of this, Niecy Nash filled in for him as host of The Masked Singer. He later returned to the show.
In 2021, Nick Cannon started his own daytime talk show called Nick Cannon. The show ended in May 2022.
America's Got Talent
From 2009 to 2016, Nick Cannon was the host of America's Got Talent. This is a very popular talent competition show. He decided not to return for the 2017 season. He said he had different ideas from the TV network executives. He was replaced by Tyra Banks as the host.
Business Ventures
In 2009, Nick Cannon became the chairman of the TeenNick channel for Nickelodeon. He also worked as a creative consultant for the channel. In 2012, he created a sketch-comedy series called Incredible Crew. He wrote and produced the theme song for this show.
In December 2015, Cannon was named "Chief Creative Officer" of RadioShack. This role involved creating special products for RadioShack. He also helped improve the shopping experience in their stores. They launched his line of audio products, starting with Ncredible1 Wireless Headphones.
Radio Hosting
On January 19, 2010, Cannon hosted a morning radio show in New York. He left the show in 2012 due to health reasons.
Cannon also has a weekly music chart show called Cannon's Countdown. This show is played on many radio stations.
Currently, Cannon hosts his own morning show, "Nick Cannon Mornings", in Los Angeles.
Comedy Shows
On July 13, 2010, Cannon announced that he would go on a comedy tour. It started at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal.
In early 2011, Cannon recorded his first stand-up comedy special. It was called Mr. Showbiz. The special first aired on Showtime on May 14, 2011.
Personal Life
Nick Cannon graduated from Howard University in 2020. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology/Administration of Justice. He also studied Africana Studies.
Cannon was married to singer-songwriter Mariah Carey. They got married on April 30, 2008. On April 30, 2011, they had twins. After six years, they separated and later divorced in 2016.
Activism
In 2011, Cannon made a public service announcement for DoSomething. He encouraged teenagers to find causes they care about. He wanted them to take action in their communities.
Since 2011, Cannon has been the celebrity spokesperson for the National Association of Letter Carriers' annual food drive. This food drive helps collect food across the United States every May.
