Branislav Lečić (Serbian Cyrillic: Бранислав Лечић; born 25 August 1955) is a famous Serbian actor, director, writer, and politician. He is known for playing characters who are sensitive but also have a strong sense of what is right. Lečić became very popular for his role as Crni in the TV mini-series Sivi dom (1986).

He is considered one of the most successful Serbian actors ever. He also played a Royal Army officer named Radekić in Silent Gunpowder (1990). Another famous role was the poet Aleksa Šantić in the TV film Moj brat Aleksa (1991). He also starred as professor Teodor Kraj in The Professional (2003). For his role in Silent Gunpowder, Lečić won important awards. These included the Golden Arena for Best Actor and the Silver St. George Award. His other well-known films include My Uncle's Legacy (1988) and Labyrinth (2002).

Lečić has also done a lot of work in theater. He has won many awards for his stage performances. He was a lead actor at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre. There, he played famous roles like Uncle Vanya and Hamlet. He also directs plays at his own LekArt Theatre. He teaches acting and how to speak clearly at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.

Besides acting, he has been active in politics. He served as the Minister of Culture and Media from 2001 to 2004.

Branislav Lečić finished his acting studies in 1978. His first main role was as Vanya in the 1977 film Specijalno vaspitanje. Critics liked his performance a lot. They thought he showed great talent from the start.

He later became very famous for playing Crni in the TV series Sivi dom. This role made him a household name in the Balkans. He acted alongside other big stars like Bata Živojinović.

After this success, he gained fame across Europe. This was for his role as Royal Army officer Rade Radekić in Silent Gunpowder. This role earned him the Golden Arena for Best Actor award. He also won the Silver St. George Award at the 17th Moscow International Film Festival. In 1991, he played the poet Aleksa Šantić in a TV drama. This showed his ability to play sensitive and historical characters.

In 2002, he starred in Labyrinth. For this film, he received an Apollo Award. In 2003, he played a literature professor in The Professional. This role was highly praised by critics. He also played Captain Tasić in St. George Shoots the Dragon (2008).

Lečić also appeared in the documentary film The Weight of Chains (2011). He has read poems and narrated audiobooks. He has also done voice acting for many animated movies. For example, he was the voice of Anger in Inside Out. He also voiced Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

He even sang a song called Bubamara. It was a Serbian ballad with singer Knez.

Lečić has had a very successful career in theater. He has won several awards for his stage work. He helped start important theater groups in former Yugoslavia. Political Involvement

Besides his acting career, Branislav Lečić has been active in politics. He was involved in a movement called "Plišana revolucija" (Plush Revolution). This movement took place during the time of Slobodan Milošević.

After a big election in 2000, he became the Minister of Culture in Serbia. He served in this important role from 2001 to 2004. He later joined and helped found different political parties. He also led the "Moja Srbija" (My Serbia) Movement. In 2010, his party joined the Christian Democratic Party of Serbia. Lečić was later elected as the president of this party.

He is also known for his humanitarian work. He has worked with various charities. He often collaborated with his friend and fellow actor Marko Živić.

Personal Life

Branislav Lečić has three children. He has a son named Ivan and a daughter named Ana from his first marriage. Later, he married Nina Radulović, who is a television presenter. They have a son together named Lav. They separated in 2016 and officially divorced in 2017.
