About the Breadwinners Show
This section tells you what Breadwinners is all about. You'll learn about the main characters and their adventures.
What is Breadwinners About?
The show follows two best friends, SwaySway and Buhdeuce. They are green, flightless ducks who act like humans. They live on a water planet called Pondgea. Their job is to deliver fresh bread to everyone. They fly around in a cool rocket-powered van.
SwaySway (Robbie Daymond) is the tall, thin leader. He's good at flying the van. Buhdeuce (Eric Bauza) is short and round. He's a bit clumsy but very loyal. When they get into trouble, they can "level up." This means they transform into different forms. These forms help them solve their problems.

How Breadwinners Was Made
This section explains how the show Breadwinners came to life.
The Idea Behind the Show
Breadwinners was created by Gary "Doodles" DiRaffaele and Steve Borst. The idea started in Gary's apartment. They had met while working on another animated show. Gary drew two ducks tossing bread in the air. He loved bread, and his friends sometimes called him a "duck." Steve thought it was a great idea for a cartoon.
From Short Film to TV Series
The first short cartoon was made in two months. Robbie Daymond, who voices SwaySway, was found through a casting call. The short cartoon was shown at a film festival in New York City. It was also put on YouTube. Many people watched it and loved it. They wanted more!
Nickelodeon saw how popular it was. They contacted the creators. After a few months, Gary and Steve were hired. They got to turn their short cartoon into a full TV series.
Animation and Music
The show's actions are timed to music. Tommy Sica, who was in a band with Gary, wrote the music. The music was recorded before the animation was even done. This makes the show move very fast. Kids who watched it would often bounce along to the beat.
The animation was done in Canada. It uses a style that looks like old video games. The characters have dark outlines. The backgrounds and shadows have a pixelated look. This gives the show a unique and fun appearance.
