Breasclete (which is Brèascleit in Scottish Gaelic) is a small village. It is located on the west side of the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. This island is part of the Outer Hebrides. Breasclete is found within the area of Uig. It sits right next to the A858 highway.

A Look at Breasclete's Past
Breasclete has a very interesting history. You can find several ancient stone circles here. There are also many cairns, which are piles of stones. These structures tell us about people who lived here long ago.
Ancient Discoveries
In 1995, archaeologists found something special. They uncovered a Bronze Age-era Olcote kerbed cairn. This was found south of the village during road work. It was excavated by CFA Archaeology. This site seems to be part of a larger ancient ceremonial area. Inside the cairn, they found a cist burial. This is a small stone box used for burials. The archaeologists believe there might have been another burial nearby. However, no bones survived due to the soil.
The Village Pier
The local pier is located west of the village. It was built in the early 1900s. A quay, which is a landing place for boats, was built in a similar way. This pier has been important for the village's connection to the sea.
