Breggia is a special place in Switzerland. It is a new municipality in the Ticino canton. This area is found in the Mendrisio district.
Breggia was created on October 25, 2009. It was formed when six smaller towns decided to join together. These towns were Bruzella, Cabbio, Caneggio, Morbio Superiore, Muggio, and Sagno. They all became one bigger municipality called Breggia.
Where is Breggia Located?
Breggia is in the southern part of Switzerland. It is part of the canton of Ticino. This canton is known for speaking Italian. Breggia is also close to the border with Italy.
The municipality covers an area of about 25.85 square kilometers. It sits at an elevation of 704 meters above sea level.
