A Look at Cabbio's Past
Cabbio was first mentioned in old records way back in 1188. It was known as Cabio then. In 1299, it was part of the lands owned by the Como Cathedral and Rusca Castle in Como, Italy.
For a long time, Cabbio was part of the Muggio parish (a church district). This lasted until the mid-1600s. It was also part of the larger Balerna parish until the early 1800s. Until 1805, the nearby village of Casima was also considered part of Cabbio.
The main church in Cabbio is called S. Salvatore. It was first mentioned in 1579. The church was rebuilt between 1780 and 1795 and then officially opened again in 1818.
The people of Cabbio traditionally made their living from farming. They focused on forest farming and raising animals in the mountains. Many people also moved to other countries to find work.
Where is Cabbio?

What is Cabbio's Coat of Arms?
A coat of arms is like a special symbol or design for a town or family. Cabbio's coat of arms is described as: Azure a chevron argent between three mullets of five of the same and on a chief or an eagle displayed sable.
This means it has a blue background (azure). There's a silver V-shape (chevron argent) in the middle. Around the V-shape are three silver five-pointed stars (mullets of five of the same). At the very top (on a chief or), there's a black eagle with its wings spread out (eagle displayed sable).
