Brendan Joel Zibusiso Galloway (born 17 March 1996) is a professional footballer from Zimbabwe. He plays as a defender for the club Plymouth Argyle. Brendan used to play for England's youth teams. Now, he plays for the Zimbabwe national team.

Club Career

Early Days at Milton Keynes Dons

Brendan Galloway was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, on 17 March 1996. He moved to England with his family when he was six years old. He started his football journey with Milton Keynes Dons. He joined their under-11 team.

Brendan made his first-team debut for Milton Keynes Dons when he was just 15 years old. This happened on 12 November 2011. He came on as a substitute in an FA Cup match. His team won 6–0 against Nantwich Town. He played his first league game on 28 April 2012. It was a 2–1 win against Rochdale. Brendan scored his first goal for the club on 9 November 2013. This was in a 4–1 victory over Halifax Town.

Moving to Everton

In August 2014, Everton signed Brendan Galloway. He signed a five-year contract with the club. For most of that season, he played for Everton's under-21 team. He got his chance to play for the senior team on 16 May 2015. This was in an away game against West Ham United, which Everton won 2–1. Even though he usually played as a centre-back, he played as a left-back in this game. He made his first home start for Everton against Tottenham Hotspur.

At the start of the 2015–16 season, Brendan got more chances to play. Everton's regular left-back was injured. Brendan started the match against Watford. On 10 December 2015, Brendan signed a new contract with Everton. This contract kept him at the club until at least June 2020.

Loan to West Bromwich Albion

On 22 August 2016, Brendan joined West Bromwich Albion. He went there on a loan deal for the whole season. He made his first league start for West Brom on 28 August 2016. This was against Middlesbrough. On 10 April 2017, Everton called Brendan back from his loan early.

Time at Luton Town

On 3 July 2019, Brendan Galloway moved to Luton Town. He joined them on a free transfer from Everton. He played for Luton Town until 28 May 2021. At that time, Luton Town announced that Brendan and several other players were leaving the club.

Joining Plymouth Argyle

On 21 July 2021, Brendan Galloway joined Plymouth Argyle. He had played in some trial games for them before signing a short-term contract. On 14 August, he made his league debut for Plymouth Argyle. He played the full 90 minutes in a 1–0 win against Gillingham.

In October 2021, Brendan got an injury. This injury meant he could not play for the rest of that season. However, he played enough games in the 2022–23 season to extend his contract. In May 2024, Brendan signed a new two-year contract with Plymouth Argyle.

International Career

Brendan Galloway can play for either Zimbabwe or England. In 2012, he was chosen for the England U-17 squad. His first game for England was against the Faroe Islands in August 2012. He also played for England in the qualifying games for the 2014 UEFA Under-19 Championship.

In 2016, Zimbabwe asked Brendan to play for their national team. This was for the 2017 African Cup of Nations. But Brendan decided to stay with the England U21 team at that time. He officially played for Zimbabwe on 12 October 2021. This was in a 1–0 loss to Ghana in a World Cup qualification match. In that game, he played as a centre-back.
