Becoming U.S. Attorney
In 2021, Senator Chuck Schumer suggested Breon Peace for a very important job. This job was the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. The United States Attorney is the chief federal law enforcement officer in a specific area.
On August 10, 2021, President Joe Biden officially nominated Mr. Peace for this role. The United States Senate then reviewed his nomination. On September 30, 2021, a committee approved his nomination. Finally, on October 5, 2021, the full Senate confirmed him.
