Bridal Veil Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in the DuPont State Forest in North Carolina. It's found on the Little River, not far from the town of Brevard, North Carolina. This amazing waterfall is a popular spot for visitors to enjoy nature's beauty.

How the Waterfall Was Formed

Bridal Veil Falls starts as a gentle slide where the river flows over a small rock ledge, about four feet high. From there, the water continues to glide down a long, smooth granite slope. This slope gets steeper as it goes, until the water finally splashes into small pools or against large rocks at the bottom.

On the left side of the river, near the bottom, a part of the water drops off a 25-foot cascade. A cascade is like a mini-waterfall where the water tumbles over rocks. This makes Bridal Veil Falls a mix of a smooth slide and a tumbling cascade!

Visiting Bridal Veil Falls

It's easy to visit Bridal Veil Falls, and you can get there by hiking or biking!

You can start your adventure from the Fawn Lake parking area in the forest. From there, you'll go past Fawn Lake, an old airstrip, and a horse barn. Another way to get there is from the Buck Forest parking area. If you choose this route, you'll cross a covered bridge, turn right, and follow the road past Lake Julia until you reach the falls.

There's a wide gravel road that takes you very close to the waterfall. From there, a gentle, graveled path leads you right down to the base of the falls. You'll find a viewing platform about halfway down this path, which is a great spot to take photos. There's even a bike rack at the bottom for those who cycle!

Staying Safe at the Falls

While it might look fun, going behind the waterfall or walking on the wet, slippery rocks can be very dangerous. The rocks can be extremely slick, and the water can be powerful. It's always important to be careful when you are near any stream or waterfall. Please stay on the marked paths and enjoy the beauty from a safe distance!
