Brittany Nicole Waddell (born August 2, 1984), known as Britt Nicole, is an American singer and songwriter. She started her music journey on her own before signing with record labels like Sparrow Records and Capitol Records. Her first album, "Say It" (released in 2007), became quite popular.

In 2009, she released The Lost Get Found, which became a number one album on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. This album featured popular songs like "The Lost Get Found" and "Walk on the Water". Her 2012 album, Gold, was a big success. Its title song even appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Gold also reached the top of the Christian Albums chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award. She released a self-titled album in 2016 and has continued to release music independently since then.

Britt Nicole's Early Life

Brittany Nicole Waddell was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina. She began singing at her church when she was just three years old. As she grew up, she and her family were part of a daily TV program on a local station.

Brittany was also a talented dancer, learning ballet, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical dance styles. In high school, she was part of an advanced choir group. She even performed with them at Carnegie Hall in New York City. She also participated in Duke University's Brightleaf Music Workshop.

Her Music Career

Starting Her Journey (2003–2011)

Brittany turned down a scholarship to Belmont University to focus on her music career. She felt it was her calling to sing full-time. In 2003, she released her first album, Follow the Call, as an independent artist.

In 2006, she signed with Sparrow Records. Her song "Indestructible" was featured on a popular Christian music CD. She also performed at several music festivals. She even sang on two songs, "Right Back" and "Soul Cry", for the Christian hip-hop group GRITS.

On May 22, 2007, her second album, Say It, was released. It reached No. 40 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart. The first song from the album, "You", became a Top 10 hit on Christian radio. It was one of the most played songs on Christian radio stations in 2007. Britt Nicole also opened for the 2007 Winter Jam Tour, performing with other well-known artists. Her song "Sunshine Girl" was even featured on an MTV show.

Britt Nicole's first music video, for the song "Believe", came out in September 2007. This song was also very popular on Christian radio. In November 2007, she released a digital Christmas EP called Holiday Trio. It included her song "Holiday" and a cover of "Last Christmas".

"Set the World on Fire" was another single from Say It in 2008. It reached No. 11 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart. Other songs like "Holiday" and "When She Cries" were released as singles in the UK.

In 2009, Britt Nicole released "The Lost Get Found" to promote her new album of the same name. The song quickly became a Top 20 hit and reached No. 1 on Christian radio. Her album, The Lost Get Found, was released on August 11, 2009. It topped Billboard's Christian Albums Chart and reached No. 62 on the Billboard 200.

Her song "Walk on the Water" was also very popular, reaching No. 17 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. It was even featured on the TV show The Biggest Loser. In 2010, she released an EP called Acoustic, which featured acoustic versions of her songs and a new song, "Found By You".

Recent Years (2012–Present)

On December 21, 2011, Britt Nicole announced her fourth album. The first song from it, "All This Time", was released in January. It was the No. 1 song on Christian pop radio for eight weeks. The album, Gold, came out on March 26, 2012. It debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Christian Albums chart and No. 41 on the Billboard 200. This was her highest-charting album on that chart.

In December 2012, she released two Christmas music videos, "Jingle Bell Rock" and "O Holy Night". Britt Nicole then signed with Capitol Records and released "Gold" as her first song for mainstream pop radio. A new version of her album Gold was released to mainstream markets in February 2013.

In 2014, her song "The Sun Is Rising" was included in the movie The Other Woman. This helped the song gain popularity even though it wasn't an official single.

Her first remix album, The Remixes, was released in March 2015. "Through Your Eyes" was the first song from her fifth studio album, released in July 2016. Her self-titled album, Britt Nicole, was released on October 7, 2016.

Personal Life

Brittany Waddell's parents divorced when she was seven years old. She has mentioned this experience in some of her songs. On July 1, 2012, she married Joshua Crosby. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Ella Brave Crosby, on July 24, 2013.

Brittany and Joshua have three children: a daughter born in 2013, a son born in 2015, and another son born in 2019. They separated shortly after their third child was born. In December 2019, Britt Nicole met with the President in the Oval Office.
