Broadalbin is a small village located in Fulton County, New York, United States. Its name comes from the Breadalbane Region in Scotland.
Most of the village is in the town of Broadalbin. However, a small part of it is actually in the nearby town of Mayfield. In 2010, about 1,327 people lived in Broadalbin.

Broadalbin's History
The area where Broadalbin village is located was first settled around 1770. This makes it one of the oldest settled places in the town.
The Historic Hotel Broadalbin
The Hotel Broadalbin is a very old and important building. It was first built in 1854 as a store that sold gloves. Later, in 1881, it was made bigger and turned into a hotel.
This historic building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. This list includes places that are important to history. The hotel has been updated and is still open for visitors all year long.
The Great Fire of 1879
In 1879, a big fire caused a lot of damage in Broadalbin. The east side of North Main Street was almost completely destroyed. Sixteen businesses were lost in the fire. Luckily, even though so many buildings were ruined, no one lost their life.
Broadalbin's Geography
Broadalbin is found in the southeastern part of Fulton County. Its exact location is 43.05917 degrees north and 74.198057 degrees west. Most of the village is in the western part of the town of Broadalbin. A small section stretches west into the town of Mayfield.
Land and Water
According to official measurements, the village covers about 2.92 square kilometers (1.13 square miles). Only a tiny part of this area, about 0.01 square kilometers (0.004 square miles), is covered by water. This means most of Broadalbin is land.
Roads and Rivers
New York State Route 29 goes through the southern part of the village. This road can take you east about 22 miles to Saratoga Springs. If you go west, it's about 10 miles to Johnstown, which is the main city in Fulton County. Other local roads like County Roads 110, 117, 126, and 155 also serve the village.
The Kennyetto Creek flows through Broadalbin. It runs west and then north, eventually reaching Great Sacandaga Lake. The village is also located right at the southern edge of the beautiful Adirondack Park.
