Bruce Brown Jr. (born August 15, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Toronto Raptors in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Bruce is known for being a versatile player. He can play as a small forward or as a guard.
Bruce played college basketball for the Miami Hurricanes. In 2018, the Detroit Pistons picked him as the 42nd player in the 2018 NBA draft. He has also played for the Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets, and Indiana Pacers. In 2023, he helped the Denver Nuggets win their first-ever NBA championship.

Bruce Brown's High School Days
Bruce Brown played both basketball and football in high school. He started at Wakefield Memorial High School in Wakefield, Massachusetts. For his junior year, he moved to Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vermont.
In his senior year, Bruce led his team to win the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class AA title. He was even named the most valuable player of that tournament! Bruce was a highly sought-after player by colleges. He chose to play college basketball for the Miami Hurricanes in November 2015.
Playing College Basketball
During his second year with the Miami Hurricanes, Bruce played very well. He averaged about 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. Unfortunately, he missed some games and the postseason due to a foot injury that needed surgery.
After that season, Bruce decided to enter the 2018 NBA draft. He chose to stay in the draft and begin his professional career.
Bruce Brown's NBA Journey
Starting with the Detroit Pistons (2018–2020)
On June 21, 2018, the Detroit Pistons drafted Bruce Brown. He was the 42nd player picked overall. Bruce made his NBA debut on October 17, 2018, against the Brooklyn Nets.
He showed his skills in November 2019, scoring 22 points and getting 7 assists in a win against the Nets. In February 2020, Bruce had an impressive game against the Denver Nuggets. He scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and made 8 assists.
Moving to the Brooklyn Nets (2020–2022)
On November 19, 2020, Bruce Brown was traded to the Brooklyn Nets. This was part of a trade involving three teams.
In February 2021, Bruce had his highest scoring game yet. He scored 29 points in the Nets' win against the Sacramento Kings. In April 2022, during the NBA playoffs, he led the Nets with 26 points in a game against the Celtics. Even though the Nets lost that game, Bruce's playoff performances were very strong.
Winning a Championship with the Denver Nuggets (2022–2023)
On July 7, 2022, Bruce Brown signed a two-year contract with the Denver Nuggets. He quickly became an important player for the team. In November 2022, Bruce achieved a triple-double! This means he had at least 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in one game. He did this against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In 2023, Bruce and the Nuggets made it to the NBA Finals. They played against the Miami Heat and won the championship in five games. This was Bruce's first NBA championship! In Game 4 of the Finals, Bruce scored a crucial 21 points, helping Denver take a big lead in the series. In Game 5, he scored the winning points with a layup and free throws, securing the Nuggets' first championship in their history.
Playing for the Indiana Pacers (2023–2024)
On July 6, 2023, Bruce signed a new contract with the Indiana Pacers. He took on a bigger role with the Pacers and even became a starter. In his first game with the Pacers on October 25, 2023, Bruce had a great performance. He scored a team-high 24 points and made a career-high 6 three-pointers in a win against the Washington Wizards.
Joining the Toronto Raptors (2024–present)
On January 17, 2024, Bruce Brown was traded again. The Pacers traded him, along with Jordan Nwora, Kira Lewis Jr., and three draft picks, to the Toronto Raptors. This trade was in exchange for another player named Pascal Siakam.
