Bruce Church (born around 1961), known as Bruce Bruce, is a funny American comedian and actor. He makes people laugh with his stand-up comedy and has been in many movies and TV shows.

Bruce Bruce was the host of a TV show called ComicView on BET from 2000 to 2002. He also acted in movies like The Wash and XXX: State of the Union. In 2005, he became the face of Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits.

Bruce Bruce's Early Life

Bruce Church was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the only child of his mother. He grew up in a neighborhood in northwest Atlanta.

Bruce was a very funny kid. He was known as the "class clown" at school. He looked up to his uncle, Paul, who he said was "the funniest man in the world." When he was young, comedians like Flip Wilson and Jackie Gleason inspired him. Later, he was influenced by Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby.

Before becoming a comedian, Bruce worked as a chef. He also sold snacks for Frito-Lay. At Frito-Lay, people asked him to perform comedy at company meetings. He then started performing at the Comedy Act Theater in Atlanta. In 1989, he moved to Los Angeles to follow his dream.

Bruce Bruce first appeared on HBO's Def Comedy Jam in 1993. He calls this his "first big break." The next year, he made his debut on Showtime at the Apollo.

In 2001, Bruce was in the comedy movie The Wash. He played a friendly security guard named DeWayne. He also acted in the 2004 film Hair Show with Mo'Nique. In 2006, he appeared as himself in the movie Cloud 9. Later, in 2012, he played Chubby Man in the romantic comedy Think Like a Man.

Bruce hosted episodes of BET's ComicView from 2000 to 2002. He also hosted Coming to the Stage in 2004. In 2003, he had his own show called Comedy Central Presents. That same year, he released his comedy special Bruce Bruce Live. In 2011, he released another special called Losin' It.

Music Videos and Collaborations

Bruce Bruce appeared in the music video for "C'mon N' Ride It (The Train)" by the Quad City DJ's in 1996. The Ying Yang Twins even mentioned him in their 2003 song "Salt Shaker". He also appeared in that music video.

He has worked with the hip-hop group Outkast many times. He was in their music video for "So Fresh, So Clean" in 2001. In the movie Idlewild, he played Nathan. He also played Golf Ball Eddie, a fast-talking bookie, in Who's Your Caddy?.
