Bruce Church (born around 1961), known by his stage name Bruce Bruce, is an American comedian and actor. He is famous for his stand-up comedy and for hosting the TV show ComicView on the BET network from 2000 to 2002.

Bruce Bruce has also appeared in many movies. Some of his films include The Wash (2001), ...: State of the Union (2005), and Idlewild (2006). In 2005, he also became a spokesperson for the restaurant chain Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits.

Early Life and First Jobs

Bruce Bruce was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in a neighborhood in northwest Atlanta called "The Bluff". Even as a child, he was known for being funny and was often the class clown.

He was inspired by his uncle, Paul, who he said was "the funniest man in the world." He also looked up to famous comedians like Flip Wilson, Jackie Gleason, Richard Pryor, and Bill Cosby.

Before becoming a full-time comedian, Bruce Bruce had other jobs. He worked as a chef making barbecue. Later, he was a salesperson for Frito-Lay. His coworkers found him so funny that he was asked to perform comedy during company meetings. This led him to try his comedy routine at a real theater in Atlanta.

Bruce Bruce's career took a big step forward in 1993 when he appeared on the HBO show Def Comedy Jam. He called this his "first big break." The next year, he performed on the famous TV show Showtime at the Apollo.

From 2000 to 2002, he was the host of BET's popular comedy show, ComicView. He also hosted another show called Coming to the Stage in 2004. In 2003, he had his own special on the show Comedy Central Presents and released his first one-hour comedy special, Bruce Bruce Live. He released another special, Losin' It, in 2011.

Roles in Movies and Music Videos

Bruce Bruce has acted in several movies. In the 2001 comedy The Wash, he played a friendly security guard named DeWayne. In the 2004 movie Hair Show, he played a character who wore a bright green suit. He also appeared as himself in the movie Cloud 9 (2006).

He has worked with the Atlanta-based hip-hop group Outkast several times. He was in their music video for the song "So Fresh, So Clean". He also acted in their movie Idlewild, where he played an assistant to a character played by singer Patti LaBelle. He also acted alongside Big Boi from Outkast in the movie Who's Your Caddy?.

Bruce Bruce has also appeared in other music videos. He was in the video for the Quad City DJ's song "C'mon N' Ride It (The Train)". He was also mentioned in the Ying Yang Twins' song "Salt Shaker" and appeared in its music video.
