Bruno the Kid is a fun animated TV show. It was created by famous actor Bruce Willis and made by Film Roman. The series had 36 episodes, each about half an hour long. It first aired on September 23, 1996, and finished on May 26, 1997. Later, the show was also shown in Spanish on Univision in the United States.
Bruno's Secret Spy Life
This cartoon is about an 11-year-old boy named Bruno. He becomes a top spy for a secret organization called GLOBE. The cool part is, GLOBE doesn't know Bruno is a kid! They think he's a grown-up because he uses a special computer program to create a fake adult image of himself (which looks like Bruce Willis).
Bruno gets his missions through his computer and a special gadget watch. He works with other GLOBE agents like Jarlsburg (voiced by Tony Jay) and Harris (voiced by Mark Hamill). These agents also don't know Bruno's real age. They just assume GLOBE knows what it's doing by sending a "grown-up" like Bruno into dangerous situations.
Bruno has to live a double life, keeping his spy adventures a secret from his parents and friends. For example, he once told his parents he was camping in the garden. He even set up a light to make a fake shadow in his tent so it looked like he was inside! While his parents thought he was camping, Bruno was out saving the world or stopping big robberies.
His British spy partner, Jarlsburg, helps him on missions. In one episode, a classmate filmed Bruno during a mission and tried to get something from him by threatening to tell his secret. But Bruno managed to erase the video, keeping his spy life safe!
Later in the series, Jarlsburg briefly quit being Bruno's partner. He was scared to use his weapon because he might accidentally hit Bruno. Bruno didn't want him to leave the team. Luckily, Jarlsburg soon realized his mistake and came back to help Bruno.
On their missions, they often meet Harris. He's a bit like the character "Q" from the James Bond movies, who gives spies cool gadgets. Harris gives Bruno special tools, and Bruno always finds a clever way to use them later in the episode. Besides being the voice of Bruno, Bruce Willis was also one of the main people in charge of making the show. He even helped write and sing the show's theme song!
