Brush Fork (sometimes spelled Brushfork) is a small community in Mercer County, West Virginia, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area that looks like a town but doesn't have its own local government.
Brush Fork is about 2 miles (3.2 km) northwest of Bluefield. In 2010, about 1,197 people lived there. The community got its name from a nearby creek called Brush Fork, which flows into the Bluestone River.

Community Life in Brush Fork
Brush Fork is home to the West Virginia National Guard Brushfork Armory. This building is used by the National Guard, which is a part of the U.S. armed forces. They help during emergencies and support the country.
Armory Activities
The Armory is also a busy place for the community. It hosts many events, including:
- Basketball games for Bluefield High School.
- Graduation ceremonies for local colleges and high schools.
- Other important community gatherings.
In 2024, the Armory received money to plan a new center. This new center will be built to keep everyone safe. It will meet all modern safety rules for buildings.
Outdoor Fun
Tourism is growing in Brush Fork. Many visitors come to explore the Hatfield–McCoy_Trails. These are popular trails for off-road vehicles like ATVs. People who visit the trails often stay in the Brush Fork area.

Brush Fork has been a place for education for many years.
Elementary Schools
Brushfork Elementary School is currently in the community. However, it will close in 2025. A new school called Timberwood Elementary will open instead. Timberwood Elementary will bring together students from Brushfork and Bluewell Elementary schools.
College History
Brushfork was once home to Bluefield College of Evangelism. Its first campus was at Christian Acres Camp. Later, the college moved to a campus next door. This college is now called Blueridge College of Evangelism. It has moved to Wytheville, a town in Virginia.
Getting Around Brush Fork
Brush Fork is an important spot for travel. Several roads meet here, and there are options for public transportation.
Major Roads
Two main roads, US 52 and West Virginia Route 123, meet in Brush Fork. They cross paths at a place called Airport Square. The Mercer County Airport is just east of Brush Fork.
West Virginia Route 123 turns into VA 643 when it crosses into Virginia. This road then connects with VA 102.
Bus Service
Brush Fork also has bus service. The Bluefield Area Transit provides rides throughout Mercer and McDowell counties.
