Brütten is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Winterthur area of the Canton of Zürich in Switzerland. It's a peaceful place known for its natural beauty and friendly community.

History of Brütten
Brütten has a long history! It was first mentioned in old records way back in the year 876. At that time, it was known by the name Pritta.
Geography and Nature
Brütten covers an area of about 6.7 square kilometers (which is about 2.6 square miles). A big part of this land, almost 59%, is used for farming. About 30% of the area is covered by forests, which means lots of trees and green spaces! The rest of the land, about 11%, has buildings and roads.
In 1996, about 6.1% of the total area was taken up by houses and other buildings. Roads and other ways to get around made up another 4.6%. By 2007, about 7.2% of the town's land was being developed with new construction.
The town is built on a high, flat area. This plateau is located to the west of the Kempt and Töss Valleys. Brütten includes the main village itself, plus smaller communities called hamlets. These hamlets are Strubikon, Birch, Eich, and Obereich (which became part of Brütten in 1922).
People and Community
Brütten has a population of about 2,000 people. A small part of the population, about 5.7%, are people from other countries. The number of people living in Brütten has grown by almost 10% in the last ten years.
