Buchs is a town in Switzerland. It's located in the Aargau region, close to the city of Aarau. Buchs sits near the Suhre river. It's easy to reach by car using the A1 motorway.

What is the History of Buchs?
Buchs was first mentioned in old documents in the year 1225. Back then, its name was Buhse. Later, in 1361, it was called Buchs, which is the name we use today.

Buchs is in a flat area near the Suhre river. The river flows into the Aare river a bit further north. The older parts of the town are on both sides of the Suhre river. Newer areas have grown up around them. A large forest called "Suretwald" covers the eastern part of Buchs.
The town covers an area of about 5.3 square kilometers. A good part of this land, about 46%, is covered by forests. About 40% of the land has buildings and roads. The rest is used for farming or is made up of rivers.
