The Budgewoi Lake is a beautiful lagoon located on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. A lagoon is a shallow body of water that is partly separated from the ocean. This lake is part of a larger system called the Tuggerah Lakes.

You can find Budgewoi Lake near the town of Budgewoi. It's about 100 kilometres (62 mi) north of Sydney, a major city in Australia.

Exploring Budgewoi Lake: Location and Features

Budgewoi Lake gets its water from a small creek and the southern part of Lake Munmorah. This area where water collects and flows into the lake is called its catchment. The lake is located north of Wallarah Point.

Several towns are located around the lake. These include Toukley, Budgewoi, Buff Point, Charmhaven, and Gorokan.

Water from Budgewoi Lake flows south into Tuggerah Lake. From there, any extra water eventually makes its way to the Tasman Sea. This sea is part of the huge South Pacific Ocean, flowing out through a place called The Entrance. When the lake is completely full, it covers a large area of about 1,400 hectares (3,500 acres). That's like 14 square kilometers!
