Lake Munmorah, also known as Munmorah Lake, is a beautiful lagoon in New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Tuggerah Lakes system. You can find it on the Central Coast, about 110 kilometers (68 miles) north of Sydney. The town of Lake Munmorah is right nearby.

Exploring Lake Munmorah
Lake Munmorah is a great spot for water activities. People enjoy all sorts of watersports in its clear waters. The lake is located north of Budgewoi. It is surrounded by areas like Wyee, Mannering Park, and Wyee Bay.
Water Flow and Size
Water from Lake Munmorah flows south into Budgewoi Lake. From there, it moves into Tuggerah Lake. Finally, this water reaches the Tasman Sea of the South Pacific Ocean through The Entrance. When the lake is full, it covers an area of about 780 hectares (1,927 acres).
Munmorah National Park
North-east of Lake Munmorah, you'll find a National Park managed by NPWS. This park is a fantastic place to visit. It offers lovely beaches, scenic lookouts, and picnic areas. You can also explore many hiking trails there.
History of the Lake Area
In October 2013, the area around Lake Munmorah faced a serious threat from bushfires. Many people had to leave their homes for safety. They went to places like Doyalson and Swansea RSL clubs, and the Gwandalan Bowling Club.
Impact of the Fires
The fires caused power lines to fall, which meant over 600 homes lost electricity. Large parts of the Munmorah State Conservation Area were burned. The fires were very serious and affected the community deeply.
