Bullsbrook is a suburb located north of Perth, Western Australia. It is part of the City of Swan. The original town was a bit west of where it is now, near the old Midland Railway line.

Bullsbrook is also home to the RAAF Pearce airbase. This is a very important training base for the Royal Australian Air Force. The suburb is found on the Great Northern Highway, about 25 kilometres north of Midland. Many main roads connect Bullsbrook, making it easy to get around. These include the Great Northern Highway and Brand Highway.

Even though Bullsbrook used to be mostly farmland, it is now growing. New areas for shops and businesses have opened up. The City of Swan is also planning for more growth. This includes new areas for homes, shops, and industries.

Where Did the Name Bullsbrook Come From?

The name "Bullsbrook" comes from the railway station. This station was built when the Midland Railway was being constructed in the 1890s. It was named after a nearby stream called Bull's Brook.

There are a couple of ideas about how the stream got its name:

  • It might have been named after Lieutenant Henry Bull. He was given land about 8 km south in 1831.
  • Another idea is that it was named after Richard ("Bull") Jones. He was one of Henry Bull's workers and lived in the area for many years.
