Burgess Park is a fun public park located in Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland. It's right by the beautiful River Shannon, which separates County Westmeath from County Roscommon.
You can find a special memorial garden, a cool playground, nice walking paths, and lots of open spaces for games and relaxing.
A Look Back at Burgess Park
In December 2015, the park experienced some flooding. This happened after a big storm called Storm Frank. The River Shannon's water levels rose, causing parts of the park to flood.
A special memorial garden was planted in 2016. This garden celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the Easter Rising, an important event in Irish history.
