George "Buster" Rhymes, born on January 27, 1962, is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Buster Rhymes' Football Journey
Early Life and College Years
Buster Rhymes grew up in Liberty City, a neighborhood in Miami, Florida. He went to Miami Northwestern. After high school, he decided to play football for the University of Oklahoma. This was in 1980, under coach Barry Switzer.
During his time at Oklahoma, Buster was recognized as an All-American wide receiver. This means he was one of the best college players in the country. He was also named Dade County's Athlete of the Year for 1979–80.
Playing in the NFL
Buster Rhymes was chosen by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the 1985 NFL draft. He was 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed 218 pounds. He played for the Vikings for two seasons, in 1985 and 1986.
In 1985, Buster set an NFL record for kick return yards. He gained 1,345 yards from returning kicks. This record has since been broken by other players. However, it remained a team record for the Vikings until 2013.
Canadian Football League Career
After playing in the NFL, Buster Rhymes moved to Canada. He joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL. He played for them for two seasons, in 1988 and 1989.
In 1988, Buster helped his team win the Grey Cup. This is the championship trophy for the CFL, similar to the Super Bowl in the NFL. Winning the Grey Cup was a big achievement in his career.
