History of Cadiz
How Cadiz Got Its Name
Cadiz was officially planned and mapped out in 1836. Many of the first people who settled here came from a town called Cadiz, Ohio. They named their new home "Cadiz" to remember where they came from.
Early Services in Cadiz
A post office was opened in Cadiz in 1837. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters. The post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1923.
