Cadwell: A Small Town in Georgia
Cadwell is a charming town in the state of Georgia. It is known for its peaceful atmosphere. The town covers a total area of about 1.28 square miles (3.3 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. A small part, about 0.03 square miles (0.08 square kilometers), is water.
Where is Cadwell?
Cadwell is in the southwestern part of Laurens County. You can find it at these coordinates: 32°20′25″N 83°2′33″W. Georgia State Route 117 runs through the town. It is known as Main Street.
If you travel northeast on SR 117, you will reach Dublin. Dublin is the county seat and is about 17 miles away. If you go southwest, you will find Eastman, which is about 13 miles away.
Another road, State Route 126, also goes through Cadwell. It is called Burch Street. This road leads northwest to Chester, about 8 miles away. It goes southeast to Alamo, which is about 22 miles away.
The western part of Cadwell has water that flows into Bay Creek. This creek eventually joins the Ocmulgee River. The eastern side of town drains into Long Branch. This also leads to the Ocmulgee River.

The town of Cadwell was officially created in 1907. This happened when the Georgia General Assembly made it a town. The community was named after Matthew and Rebecca Cadwell. They were the first owners of the land where the town now stands.
