Every stream has a beginning, called its headwaters. For Calvey Creek, its headwaters are in Jefferson County, Missouri, at 38°17′39″N 90°45′10″W / 38.29417°N 90.75278°W. This area is south of Missouri Route 30 and north of a town called Grubville.
From its start, the creek flows north. It follows the border between Franklin and Jefferson counties for a while. Then, it turns northwest and goes under Route HH.
The end of a stream, where it joins a larger body of water, is called its confluence. Calvey Creek's confluence with the Meramec River is in Franklin County at 38°26′18″N 90°48′04″W / 38.43833°N 90.80111°W.
Calvey Creek and Robertsville State Park
As Calvey Creek flows, it forms the eastern edge of Robertsville State Park. This park is west of a community called Catawissa. The creek finally meets the Meramec River at the northeast corner of Robertsville State Park.
