Camp Creek Falls is a beautiful waterfall in Washington, about 55-foot (17 m) tall. It gets its water from Camp Creek. This creek flows through a land area called a basin, which is like a large bowl-shaped valley. This basin is about 4 square miles in size and sits 1550 feet above sea level.

Just a short distance downstream, Camp Creek joins the Cispus River. Even when the weather is dry later in the year, Camp Creek Falls always has water flowing. This is because it's a "perennial" waterfall, meaning it flows all year round. You can clearly see its two main steps or "tiers." Camp Creek Falls is located south of U.S. Route 12, right in the middle of the amazing Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. There's a special path that leads from a parking area directly to the falls.

Where is Camp Creek Falls?

Camp Creek Falls is found in the White Pass/Cowlitz River Valley. It's about 9.5 miles south of Randle, Washington. You can reach it by taking the Randle-Trout Lake road, also known as NF-23.

Getting to the Falls

To find the falls, look for the Pinto Road (NF-28) turn-off. You'll pass it on your left (north) side. The Randle-Trout Lake road crosses right over Camp Creek. This is the same spot where Camp Creek flows into the Cispus River, just a short walk south of NF-23.

After you cross Camp Creek, you'll find a hiking trail. This path goes through a forest with both tall evergreen trees (conifers) and leafy trees (hardwoods). The trail follows a steep slope on both sides of the creek. It ends about 20 feet away from the waterfall, giving you a great view!
