Canon is a small city in the state of Georgia, United States. It is located in both Franklin and Hart counties. In 2020, the city had a population of 643 people.

History of Canon
Canon was first known as "West Bowersville". The town was planned out in 1875. In 1902, the Georgia General Assembly officially made it a town. Its original borders stretched one mile in every direction from where Broad and Depot streets meet.
Geography of Canon
Canon is located in the eastern part of Franklin County and the western part of Hart County. Its exact location is 34°20′44″N 83°06′31″W / 34.345576°N 83.108741°W.
Two main roads, State Route 17 and State Route 51, go through the middle of Canon.
- SR 17 goes south about 4 miles (6.4 km) to Royston.
- SR 51 goes southwest about 10 miles (16 km) to Sandy Cross.
- Together, SR 17 and SR 51 go northeast about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) to Bowersville.
The United States Census Bureau says that Canon covers a total area of about 3.13 square miles (8.1 km²). Most of this area is land, with only a very small part (0.01 square miles or 0.02 km²) being water.
