Carey Davis started his professional football journey in 2004. The Indianapolis Colts signed him as an undrafted free agent. He played college football at the University of Illinois. Over his career, he also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Redskins. A big highlight of his career was winning Super Bowl XLIII with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Carey Davis played college football for the University of Illinois. He was a very versatile player. He played in 42 games during his college career. He was good at both catching and running the ball.
He caught 114 passes for 751 yards and scored five touchdowns. He also ran the ball 216 times for 1,012 yards and one touchdown. Carey graduated in May 2003. He earned a degree in Leisure Studies/Sports Management.
Playing Football Professionally
Starting with the Colts
Carey Davis first joined the Indianapolis Colts. This was on April 30, 2004. He was a rookie free agent. He was on their main team for a short time. After that, he was part of other teams. These included the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Miami Dolphins. However, he did not get to play in any games for these teams.
Time with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Carey Davis signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on January 3, 2007. He became the starting fullback for the 2007 season. He played in all 16 games that season. He ran the ball 17 times for 68 yards. He also led the team in special team tackles with 17.
In 2008, his playing time changed. The Steelers' offense started to pass the ball more. He was later replaced as the starting fullback. The Steelers released him in September 2009. But they signed him again later that month.
Playing for the Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins signed Davis on August 22, 2010. He was brought in to help when another player was hurt. However, he was released by the team on September 4, 2010.
Life After Football
Broadcasting Career
After his playing days, Carey Davis became a sports broadcaster. He is a sideline reporter for Illinois Fighting Illini football games. He also often hosts shows on 101 ESPN Radio. This station is in his hometown of St. Louis.
In September 2022, he became a permanent co-host. He joined Randy Karraker on "The Opening Drive" show. In 2024, he moved to another 101 ESPN show. This show is called "The Fast Lane." He co-hosts it with Anthony Stalter and Jamie Rivers.
Coaching Career
Carey Davis also enjoys coaching. Since 2018, he has been the head football coach. He coaches at Hazelwood Central High School. This is his old high school.
