Caroline de Oliveira Saad Gattaz, known as Carol Gattaz, is a famous Brazilian volleyball player. She was born on July 27, 1981. Carol Gattaz is a middle-blocker, which means she plays a key role in blocking shots at the net. She has won many awards and medals throughout her career.
She won a silver medal in volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Carol Gattaz also won the Volleyball World Grand Prix three times in a row with her team.

Early Life and Sports Beginnings
Carol Gattaz was born in São José do Rio Preto, a city in Brazil. Before she became a volleyball star, she played another sport. As a teenager, Carol played futsal, which is a type of indoor soccer. She was a striker for her city's club, América-SP.
While she was still in high school, Carol started playing volleyball. This is where her amazing career truly began.
Carol Gattaz's Volleyball Career
Carol Gattaz plays as a middle blocker, a position that requires great height and quick reflexes. She started her professional volleyball journey with the club São Caetano. In 2000, she moved to Rexona-Ades.
After leaving Rexona-Ades in 2001, Carol played for several different clubs. In 2004, she joined Finasa/Osasco. With this team, she won the Superliga Brasileira de Voleibol, which is Brazil's top volleyball league. She stayed with Finasa/Osasco until the 2006–2007 season.
In 2007, Carol Gattaz went to Italy to play for Monte Schiavo. However, she returned to Brazil the next season. She rejoined Rexona-Ades, which was a big team in Brazil. Later, in the 2011-2012 season, she played for Vôlei Futuro.
Playing for the Brazilian National Team
Carol Gattaz has also been a very important player for the Brazilian national team. She helped her country win many major championships.
- She won the South American Women's Volleyball Championship multiple times: in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009.
- She also helped Brazil win the Volleyball World Grand Prix in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2009.
