Casper: Spirit Dimensions is an exciting action-adventure game released in 2001. It's based on the friendly cartoon ghost, Casper the Friendly Ghost, from Harvey Comics. In this game, you get to play as Casper himself!
Playing the Game
Casper: Spirit Dimensions is a cool 3D action-adventure game. It was the first Casper game where you could move the camera around! You use both control sticks to fly Casper up, down, forwards, backwards, and sideways.
You can make Casper fly super fast using his "Casper Comet" power. This uses up his energy, but he can get it back by waiting or by picking up special Ghost Speed spheres. Casper can also shoot "super spirit blasts" to attack enemies. Each blast uses a Ghost Power Point.
Ghost Power Points can also be used for Casper's "ethereal shield." This shield makes him temporarily invincible, meaning nothing can hurt him! It also lets him pass through tricky grated obstacles. As you explore, you'll find glowing energy spheres. These help Casper get stronger, heal him, and give him back his energy and Ghost Power Points.
Sometimes, you'll get to choose a reward. These rewards can make Casper faster, give him more health, or make his attacks more powerful. In many areas, you'll collect gems. If you collect 100 gems, Casper gets an extra life! If Casper loses all his health, he loses a life and has to restart the task he was working on.
Casper's Adventure
The story begins when Casper meets Wendy the Good Little Witch. Wendy tells Casper that he is the only free ghost left who can defeat the evil Kibosh. Wendy uses her magic to open a door, sending Casper into the first dimension: the Medieval World.
In the Medieval World, Casper meets a knight named Sir Richard. Sir Richard needs Casper's help to find five pieces of his armor and defeat eight archers. After Casper defeats the dragons in their cave, the Medieval World is safe!
Casper then returns to his house to enter the second dimension, which is Vlad's Amusement Park. Here, Casper defeats Krank, a giant jack-in-the-box that Kibosh put in charge. Next, Casper goes to the third dimension, the Spirit Factory. He meets Professor Neutron, who was forced to build a monster-making machine for Kibosh. Casper defeats Professor Neutron's enemy, Doctor Deranged, and his robot.
Suddenly, Wendy is captured by Kibosh! To reach Kibosh's Castle, Casper must take a Ghost Ship. But first, he has to defeat its Captain, Pegleg Potbelly, who works for Kibosh.
Inside Kibosh's castle, Casper's main goal is to free the Guardian of Light. The Guardian is the rightful ruler of the Spirit World. To do this, Casper needs to complete four obstacle courses. At the end of each course, he must shut down a generator. Once all generators are off, the Guardian is free!
Finally, Casper can go to Kibosh's secret lair to face him. After a big battle, Casper defeats Kibosh and frees Wendy. Wendy tells Casper that Kibosh was sent into the Dark, a dimension of eternal darkness. No ghost has ever returned from there. Casper feels a little sad for Kibosh, thinking no ghost deserves such a fate. Wendy assures him it wasn't his fault; the spirits Kibosh had imprisoned sent him there. In the Dark, Kibosh swears he will get revenge on Casper, ending with his evil laugh.
