Castle Hill is a suburb in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. It's built around a famous mountain also called Castle Hill. The local Aboriginal people call the mountain Cootharinga, or sometimes Cooderinga. In 2021, about 972 people lived in Castle Hill.

What is Castle Hill?
Most of the Castle Hill area is a protected nature reserve. Only a small part in the north has houses. This means many people live close to nature.
A Look Back at Castle Hill's History
Castle Hill is on the traditional land of the Wulgurukaba Aboriginal people. They have lived here for a very long time. The name "Castle Hill" was likely given by an early settler named Andrew Ball.
The Aboriginal name for the mountain is Cudtheringa. This name was written down in 1864. It was shared by James Morrill, who had lived with Aboriginal people.
