Castropol is a cool place in Asturias, Spain. It's a bit like a county, called a municipality. Inside this municipality, there's also a smaller area called a parish, and even a town with the same name!
About 3,470 people live in the municipality of Castropol (as of 2018). It's located right next to the Cantabrian Sea in the north. To the west, a special water inlet called a ria separates it from Ribadeo in Galicia. This ria is also known as the river Eo.
Castropol shares its borders with other places in Asturias. These include Tapia de Casariego, El Franco, Boal, and Vegadeo. To the south, it's next to Villanueva de Oscos.
In Castropol, people speak a special language called Eonaviego. It's a mix of Galician and Asturian, making it unique!
