The Cattaraugus Reservation is a special area of land in New York, United States. It is home to many members of the Seneca Nation of New York. This reservation is mainly located in Erie County. Smaller parts of it are also in Cattaraugus County and Chautauqua County.

The Seneca Nation manages most of its services and offices for the Cattaraugus Reservation in the Erie County section. In 2010, about 1,833 people lived here.

Geography of Cattaraugus Reservation

The Cattaraugus Reservation covers about 25.7 square miles (66.5 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.

A stream called Cattaraugus Creek flows along the southern edge of the reservation. Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes, forms part of its western border.

New York State Route 438 is the main road that goes through the reservation. Even though it's called a "state route," the Seneca Nation is actually in charge of maintaining this road.
