Cedrick Mabwati Gerard (born on March 8, 1992), known simply as Cedrick, is a professional footballer from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He plays as a left winger, which means he plays on the side of the field, usually helping with attacks and crosses.

Cedrick's Football Journey
Starting in Spain
Cedrick was born in Kinshasa, which is in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. When he was a teenager, he moved to Spain with his family. At 13 years old, he joined the youth team of Atlético Madrid, a very famous football club.
Just three years later, when he was still very young, Cedrick started playing for the senior team. He spent two full seasons playing for Atlético Madrid B, which is the reserve team, in a league called Segunda División B.
First Team Debut and Loans
On January 6, 2010, before he even turned 18, Cedrick played his first game for Atlético Madrid's main team. This was in a cup competition called the Copa del Rey. He was playing against Recreativo de Huelva.
Later that year, he was loaned to CD Numancia, a club in the Segunda División, which is Spain's second-highest football league. He played there for a whole season.
Playing for Numancia and Betis
Cedrick became a key player during his three years at Numancia. He scored nine goals in his first season with the team.
On June 10, 2013, he moved to Real Betis. He made his debut in La Liga, which is the top football league in Spain, on August 18. He started in a game against Real Madrid.
Moving to Other Clubs
In 2014, Cedrick was loaned to CA Osasuna, another team in the second division. The next year, he signed with Columbus Crew, a team in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. However, he stayed on loan at Osasuna until the end of that season.
After playing for Columbus Crew, Cedrick returned to Spain in 2016. He joined UCAM Murcia CF. After recovering from a serious knee injury, he continued to play for several Spanish clubs, including Internacional de Madrid, CD Tudelano, and Real Avilés Industrial CF.
Playing for His Country
Youth and Senior Teams
Cedrick started playing for the Democratic Republic of the Congo's under-20 team when he was only 17. This team is for players who are 20 years old or younger.
He made his first appearance for the main senior team on September 6, 2014. This was during a qualifying game for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Africa Cup of Nations Success
Cedrick played in all six matches during the final stages of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea. He helped his country achieve third place in the tournament. In the match for third place, against the host team, he successfully scored his penalty during a penalty shoot-out, helping his team win 4–2.
