History of Ceiba Sur
How Puerto Rico Became Part of the U.S.

Early Population Counts
In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a special count of people in Puerto Rico. This count is called a census. The census found that the combined population of Ceiba Sur and a nearby barrio called Ceiba Norte was 1,408 people.
