Chambers Creek is a cool creek located in Washington state. It gets its water from Lake Steilacoom, which is in a town called Lakewood. This creek flows into Puget Sound, a large body of water connected to the Pacific Ocean.

How it Got its Name
Chambers Creek was named after a person named Thomas M. Chambers. He was an early settler who moved to the area near Olympia, Washington in 1846. Later, he built a sawmill right next to the creek. That's how the creek got its name!
What's There Now
For many years, a paper mill owned by Abitibi Consolidated Inc. was located along the lower part of Chambers Creek. This mill used water from the creek. The creek even had a small dam to help provide water for the mill.
The paper mill closed down in 2010. After that, the land where the mill stood was bought by Tim Ralston. Starting in 2011, the old mill buildings began to be taken down.
Today, a big part of the lower Chambers Creek area is known as the Chambers Creek Properties. These are special places for fun and recreation. Pierce County owns and takes care of these sites.

Chambers Creek is a very popular spot for people who love the outdoors. You can go fishing in the creek. It's also a great place for walking along the trails. Some people even enjoy skimboarding there, which is like surfing on a thin layer of water near the shore.
