Chapman is a small village located in Merrick County, Nebraska, in the United States. In 2020, about 260 people lived there. Chapman is also part of the larger Grand Island metropolitan area.

History of Chapman
Chapman began in the 1860s. This was when a new railroad line was built through the area. The town was named after an important railroad official. The very first building in Chapman was constructed in 1871.
A special place in Chapman, the Cahow Barber Shop, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is an important historical site.
Geography of Chapman
Chapman is found in the southwestern part of Merrick County. It is located right along U.S. Route 30, a major road. This road runs along the southeast edge of the village.
Central City, which is the main town of Merrick County, is about 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Chapman. Grand Island is about 12 miles (19 km) southwest.
According to official measurements, the village of Chapman covers an area of about 0.45 square miles (1.16 square kilometers). All of this area is land. The Platte River flows about 2 miles (3 km) southeast of the village.
