Charles Clifford (born in Wales around 1820, died in Madrid, Spain, on January 1, 1863) was a famous photographer. He was from Wales but spent most of his life working in Spain. Clifford was known for his amazing photos of Spanish landscapes, buildings, and big construction projects.

He used early photography methods like daguerreotype and wet plate collodion. Along with another French photographer, Jean Laurent, Clifford was one of the best photographers in Spain during his time. Even important people like Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought his photos in 1854. In 1861, he published two books with 159 photos. These photos were ordered by many royal families, including the King and Queen of Spain and the Emperors of France, Russia, and Austria.

Clifford was also chosen to take a portrait of Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle. He was even named the official photographer for Queen Isabella II of Spain. He traveled with her on her royal trip through Andalucia in 1862, capturing many moments.
