Charles Rahmel Jones (born July 17, 1975) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers.

Charles Jones grew up in Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York. He was one of two children born to Charles and Cathy Jones. He graduated from Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School in 1993. His brother, Lamont Jones, is also a basketball player. Charles Jones also played basketball at a famous streetball court in Brooklyn called The Soul in the Hole.

College Basketball Career

Charles Jones attended two universities during his college career. He first went to Rutgers University from 1993 to 1995. Later, he transferred to Long Island University (LIU Brooklyn), where he played from 1996 to 1998.

Top Scorer in College

While playing for Long Island University, Charles Jones was an amazing scorer. He led the entire league in scoring twice, during the 1996–97 and 1997–98 seasons. In the 1996–97 season, he averaged 30.1 points per game. This made him the last player to average 30 or more points in a season for a long time. Another player, Marcus Keene, reached that mark in the 2016–17 season.

College Records and Achievements

Charles Jones finished his senior year as one of the top players in Division I college basketball. He was 5th in assists and 9th in steals. He also led his conference in points, assists, and steals per game. He still holds many school and conference records because of his incredible scoring ability. Many people consider him a legend in both college and street basketball.

Professional Basketball Journey

After college, Charles Jones played two seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played for the Chicago Bulls in the 1998–99 season and the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1999–2000 season.

Playing Overseas

After his time in the NBA, Jones decided to play basketball in other countries. He played in several different leagues around the world. He played in Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, and Argentina. Even though he fractured his shooting hand, he continued to play professionally overseas.

Charles Jones achieved great success while playing internationally. He won league and cup titles in Bulgaria. He also won a league title in Argentina. These championships show his skill and dedication to the sport.
