Charles Tahan (born June 11, 1998) is an American actor who started his career as a child. He has appeared in movies and TV shows since 2007. You might know him as Wyatt Langmore in the Netflix crime show Ozark. He also played the young Jonathan Crane / Scarecrow in the superhero show Gotham. Another one of his famous roles was Ben Burke in the mystery series Wayward Pines.

Personal Life

Charlie Tahan was born and grew up in Glen Rock, New Jersey. He went to Glen Rock High School. He is the middle of three children, and his younger sister, Daisy Tahan, is also an actress.

Acting Career

Starting in Movies

Tahan began acting when he was a kid. One of his first big roles was in the 2007 science fiction movie I Am Legend, where he played a character named Ethan. In 2010, he acted alongside Zac Efron in the drama Charlie St. Cloud. In this movie, he played Sam St. Cloud, the main character's younger brother.

He also starred in the 2010 horror movie Burning Bright. In 2009, he appeared in the drama The Other Woman with famous actors Natalie Portman and Scott Cohen.

Voice Acting and TV Roles

Besides acting on screen, Tahan has also been a voice actor. He was the voice of Victor Frankenstein in Disney's 2012 stop-motion animated movie Frankenweenie. This spooky but fun movie was directed by the famous Tim Burton.

Tahan also had a recurring role on the TV show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit from 2010 to 2011. He played a character named Calvin Arliss for four episodes.

Playing a Famous Villain

From 2015 to 2017, Tahan played the young version of the DC Comics villain Jonathan Crane in the TV series Gotham. The show tells the origin stories of many famous characters from the Batman universe. Tahan appeared in the first and fourth seasons of the show.

Around the same time, from 2015 to 2016, he starred as Ben Burke in the science fiction mystery series Wayward Pines.

Success with Ozark

Starting in 2017, Tahan became well-known for playing Wyatt Langmore in the Netflix series Ozark. He acted in the show until it ended in 2022, alongside stars like Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, and Julia Garner.

Ozark was a huge hit and was praised by critics for its story, acting, and style. The show was nominated for 45 Primetime Emmy Awards during its run, including three nominations for Outstanding Drama Series.

Recent Work and Directing

Tahan continues to act in interesting projects. In 2022, he had a role in the movie The Pale Blue Eye. In 2024, he took a new step in his career by directing his first short film, called Taxon. He also co-wrote the film, which was released on the video platform Vimeo.
