Julia Garner (born February 1, 1994) is an American actress. She is well-known for her role as Ruth Langmore in the Netflix crime drama series Ozark. For this role, she received a lot of praise and won three Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.
Julia also appeared in other popular TV shows. These include the FX drama The Americans (2015–2018) and the Netflix miniseries Maniac (2018). She also starred in the Bravo series Dirty John (2018–2019). In 2022, she played Anna Sorokin in the Netflix miniseries Inventing Anna. This role earned her nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.

Julia Garner was born on February 1, 1994. She grew up in the Riverdale area of the Bronx, New York. Her mother, Tamar Gingold, is a therapist. She used to be an actress and comedian in Israel. Julia's father, Thomas Garner, is a painter and an art teacher. He is from Shaker Heights, Ohio. Julia's mother is Jewish, and Julia understands some Hebrew.
Julia went to Eagle Hill School in Greenwich, Connecticut. She started taking acting lessons when she was 15 years old. She did this to help her overcome shyness. Julia also studied clowning with Philippe Gaulier at a special school in France.
