Desmond Méndez (born on April 6, 1980), known to many as Charly Black, is a talented singer from Jamaica. He is famous for his reggae and dancehall music. Charly Black's Early Life and Music Journey

Desmond Mendez was born in Rio Bueno, Jamaica, on April 6, 1980. He started singing at a very young age, joining singing competitions when he was just five years old. He went to Rio Bueno Primary and High School.

Starting His Music Career

Mendez was part of famous sound systems like Warlord International and Bass Odyssey. He first recorded music in 2004 under the name Tony Mentol. His first song was "Woman It's You". Later, he changed his stage name to Charly Black. He then recorded many songs for different music labels. One of these was "Buddy Buddy" in 2008.

In 2012, he released the song "Whine & Kotch" with singer J Capri. This song was produced by Rvssian's Head Concussion Records. It became very popular in the dancehall music world.
