Early Life and Beginnings
Charlyne grew up in Fontana, California. Their family background includes Filipino, Mexican, and Korean heritage. They loved performing from a young age, especially in theater at Bloomington High School. Charlyne even went to the University of California, Riverside, but decided to leave to focus on their comedy career.

Charlyne started their career by performing comedy shows in Bloomington, California. After high school, they performed in Los Angeles at famous places like The Steve Allen Theater. They also performed at big events like the New York Comedy Festival in 2005 and 2006.
Charlyne's first movie role was in the 2007 film Knocked Up. In 2009, they starred in and helped write the movie Paper Heart. In this movie, Charlyne played a version of themself alongside actor Michael Cera.
Charlyne also has a band called The Glass Beef with Paul Rust. They both sing and play guitar. In 2006, they released their first album, The Farewell Album. Charlyne is also part of another band called Sacred Destinies.
