Charpeney Lake is a major freshwater lake in Quebec, Canada. It is the main source for the Saint-Jean North-East River, which is part of the larger Saint-Jean River system. The lake is located in the wild, unorganized territory of Lac-Jérôme, within the Minganie Regional County Municipality in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec.

Geography of Charpeney Lake

Charpeney Lake is about 6.7 km (4.2 mi) long. At its widest point, in the northern part, it measures about 1.6 km (0.99 mi) across. The lake sits high up, about 541 m (1,775 ft) above sea level, surrounded by mountains.

The lake is actually split into two main parts by a narrow passage called the Kauapauakaht Pass. Water flows into Charpeney Lake from several places. Five streams bring water from the east, and water also comes from Fauteux Lake to the south.
