Chatime (Chinese: 日出茶太; pinyin: Rìchūchátài; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Ji̍t-chhut Tê-thài) is a super popular Taiwanese company. It sells delicious bubble tea and other drinks. Chatime is the biggest bubble tea company in the world!
It started in Taiwan and now has over 2,500 stores. You can find Chatime in 38 different countries. This means you might find a Chatime store almost anywhere you travel!
Chatime grew by letting other people open stores using their brand name. This is called a franchise. The company that owns Chatime is called La Kaffa International Co Ltd. It's a "publicly listed" company, which means anyone can buy parts of the company (called shares).

History
Chatime was started in 2005 by a person named Henry Wang. He opened the first store in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The company that owns Chatime is called La Kaffa Coffee.
Growing Around the World
Chatime opened its first store outside of Taiwan in 2006. This store was in California, United States.
Then, in 2009, they opened stores in Australia. Now, there are over 70 Chatime stores in Australia! In 2010, they expanded to Malaysia. The stores in Malaysia bring in almost half of all the money Chatime makes worldwide.

Chatime keeps opening new stores everywhere. In 2012, they opened a store in the famous Mall of America in the United States. You can also find a Chatime store in London, England.
In the Philippines, Chatime planned to have 50 stores by 2014. In Malaysia, they opened their 100th store in 2013. They even planned to have 250 stores there!
As of 2024, Chatime has many locations in Canada. You can find them in cities like Vancouver, Halifax, NS, Richmond Hill, and Toronto, ON. They also have stores in Dhaka and Chittagong in Bangladesh.

Chatime's parent company, La Kaffa International Co. Ltd., became a publicly listed company in Taiwan in 2012. This means it's the only bubble tea company in Taiwan that people can invest in.

Chatime is most famous for its "pearl" milk tea. "Pearls" are those chewy, round tapioca balls you find in bubble tea.

Collaborations

Chatime has worked with other companies to create cool new things.
In 2012, the airline AirAsia started offering Chatime drinks on its flights. This was a big deal because it was the first time bubble tea was sold on an airplane! They offered special flavors like Roasted Milk Tea with Red Bean.
Chatime also teamed up with WeChat, a popular messaging app. They were the first drink company in Malaysia to have an official account on WeChat. To celebrate, Chatime gave away one million cups of drinks through digital coupons on the app!
Other companies Chatime has worked with include McDonald's, BT21, Horlicks, and Julie's biscuits.
Brand Ambassadors
Chatime chooses famous people to help promote their brand. These people are called "brand ambassadors."
In 2012, the famous Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin became a Chatime brand ambassador.
The next year, a young actress named Crystal Lee became Chatime's first "Chatime Friend." She was very young when she won a big acting award, and then she teamed up with Chatime!
